Coca-Cola manage to retract consumers when their product was attack for its health benefits. They redirect their view on what their products can also offer, hapiness.

This new ideas are made possible by innovation and keeping up with this trends or becoming a trendsetter takes a whole lot of brainstorming and creative juices to come up with.

Innovation nowadays are not as simple as having a new flavor for your menu or changing a colour scheme of the clothes on your rack. Today you have a new idea the next day your competitor has a lot better.

Business owners may seem to settle of what they have and have faith their products have enough edge to survive the hustle but the society are changing. Those frequent customers will deplete and will be replace by new set of consumers wherein taste and choices are way different from the past generations.

Millineals are labeled as business minded generation. At a young age they all know how to start a business and manage it well. Being a managers of your own businesses or even managers under big companies shoulders the responsibility of making their product stand out from the others in order for customers to notice it.

Encouraging innovation in my workplace will be a step by step process. I will let them observe and subtly let my co-workers think of new ways on how to improve the situations they have sighted. With this I am not only encouraging them but simply listening with their own opinions and from there we will surely come up with new ideas on how to solve cases at hand.

Innovation is a continuous process. It never ends and you have to cope up if you don’t want to be missed out.

The IT memoir

I remember the time when I was playing with this old typewriter in my mother’s office and trying to learn how it works. I was typing and typing and loving the sound it create. I don’t know what I was doing back then and years later in that same office there came another typewriter but it has a tv like screen, it has a keyboard but its different than the first typewriter and it has a box of some kind. Later on I found out it is not a typewriter it was called a computer. It is more complicated and harder to learn. One of my mother’s officemate taught me how to use it. As I grasp the knowledge of how to use it. I slowly find it easy compare to typewriter. You can easily change your mistakes in typing and it can even insert picture to make projects at that time more appealing. During that time having a computerized projects is a big thing because its all new and have a wow impact to your classmate and teachers.

Reminiscing this fond memories of my first computer experience I wonder how the generation of baby boomers handled their first experience. Is it the same with mine? Is it with excitement or with a furrowed brows? I bet it’s the latter. Its not easy to accept change but change is the only constant thing in this world. In order to know yourself better you have to encounter change once in your life.

20 years after, the computer that I have known before became more advance and compact. They are now everywhere. With the help of internet and telecommunication companies computers are now in your cellphones, tablet and watch. You can do everything from buying your groceries and clothes, paying your bills and accessing your work in just a swipe of your gadgets.

Information technology unveiled a different world of virtual possibility. You can talk and see your loved one in different timeline and in different land in just a small screen. You can post photos instantly on your instagram or express your thoughts on twitter. Facebook became a witness for the unjust behaviour, a vent for exhausted souls and a source of hatred and depressions. Youtube is now a medium to become famous and DIY projects.

I.T. invades our personal life and manner of thinking but they also help people to know they are not the only one experiencing hardship. Life is not all about strawberries and wine. All this perfect instagram profiles tells a different story behind the lens of the camera. Those promising post in social media are not what they seem. They may project a different life but reality is better than the fantasy.

Also, private companies and government offices are slowly trying to adapt this era of information technology. Instead of paper and pen we now have Microsoft Office to do the work for us. Instead of manually calculating revenues and expenses the I.T. has a system for that. The Department of Education as the pillars of learning and teaching the next generation the wisdom of the past and the promise of the future is taking their time discarding the old ways. Students and teachers are at the both ends of a book struggling to meet in the middle.

We are getting there at a slow pace but then small achievements are achievement at its best. Having information technology makes life easier and bearable. It offers the convenience of making and typing papers on deadline and working on numbers more tolerable. They makes virtual connection and communication available.

But I just wonder are we taking it for granted? Are we becoming dependent with this innovations? Or do we just use it to makes things convenient? Â
